Piccola Announces Public Ceremony in Capitol to Honor Military Families

HARRISBURG – State Senator Jeffrey E. Piccola (R-15) has announced that on Saturday, October 13, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. a public ceremony will be held in the rotunda of the State Capitol Building to honor the family members of the Commonwealth's military personnel. This event is being hosted by the Veterans Resource Central (VRC), a Pennsylvania based nonprofit organization that provides assistance to returning veterans, active duty military, and their families through a corps of volunteers and other tools. As a tribute to the family members of the state's military personnel, Piccola recently introduced

Senate Resolution 182 recognizing October 13, 2007 as "Military Family Day" in Pennsylvania. A similar resolution has also been introduced by Representative Ron Marsico in the House of Representatives (House Resolution 425).

Joining the VRC at this event will be local veterans, active military personnel, family members, and various public officials. The keynote speaker for the event is Brigadier General Randall Marchi, Assistant Adjutant General of Pennsylvania Joint Forces.
